Q: Why have a destination wedding in Provence when you can have a destination wedding at home? This was the question left spinning around in my head after Laura & Sean’s August wedding at the stunning Stanlake Park Vineyard in Berkshire.

I listed the criteria… vineyard setting: tick, characterful venue: tick, outdoor ceremony without incongruous structure: tick, baking hot weather: tick. And this was all within a short drive of home and London.

Laura and Sean love to travel and wove elements of that into their day – from bunting made from old maps to a canadian shoe-game run by friends they had met on the road. One wedding cake wasn’t enough for them either with friends contributing their own bakes to fill several tables that threatened to break under the load!

STOP THE PRESS: Stanlake Park Weddings is now under the fantastic management of the team at Heritage Venues. Hurrah! You can see a wedding at their sister venue Lillibrooke Manor here.
