Coulsdon Manor Wedding Photography - Kerry & Mark

There was a brief moment during Mark and Kerry’s wedding at Coulsdon Manor in Surrey when I asked myself why I had agreed to step into one of the hotel’s golf buggies. Malcolm, the venue’s toastmaster and MC had convinced the three of us, probably against our better judgment, that a drag race across the golf course would be a great way to see the bride and groom into a life of wedded bliss. We careered over hills and dodged bunkers, and as I struggled to hang onto my kit and get the odd photo, I wondered whether my clients and my insurance company would ever forgive me.

The morning had begun far more sedately, with Kerry getting ready at her parents’ house in Surrey with her two bridesmaids, one of who was my lovely wife Nikki. It was great that both of us could be there to help Kerry through her preparations, though I was definitely copping a bit of flack as I worked away…

Meanwhile at the beautiful St Margaret’s Church in Chipstead, Mark and his best men were meeting guests. After the ceremony the vicar, John Waites, pulled out a rather fine Leica camera, snapped the Bride and Groom, then disappeared only to return 5 minutes later with prints of the happy couple. Pretty impressive work!

After a drive through the Surrey countryside, we arrived at Coulsdon Manor for the reception where guests were treated to some fine food and excellent speeches.

I don’t know if it was the adrenaline from the near-death experience in an electric buggy, hours of practice in the kitchen, or a combination of both, but Kerry and Mark went on to perform the perfect first dance before the party got started in earnest.

Kerry & Mark – huge congratulations to you both and may you have a fantastic future together as husband and wife.
