It would seem that summer has finally arrived in London and so it was on a balmy Monday evening that I met with Emily & Nat in a pub on London Bridge for their pre-wedding shoot.

We talked through their wedding plans over a pint and discussed their thoughts on the shoot. Seeing as we were heading into one of the most touristic and heavily photographed parts in London they were keen to get some images that stood out and were different from what they had seen before.

With the challenge set we explored the area around London Bridge and Shad Thames, and then as darkness fell, we walked over the river to find some interesting night spots in the City. One of the things I love about what I do is that it forces me to revisit places I know well and take for granted – searching for new details,  fascinating backdrops, and interesting patterns, textures and contrast.

The venue for their wedding couldn’t be more different from the streets of London and this August I head to the beautiful Cambridgeshire countryside to photograph their special day.
