The West Mill at Darley Abbey in Derby is one of my favourite wedding venues and it was with a big smile on my face that I found myself heading up the M1 over the Easter weekend to photograph Jill & Luke’s wedding.

The West Mill is blessed with an onsite bridal suite and it was here that Jill and her bridesmaids got ready whilst guests gathered downstairs. When everyone was in place, Jill then made her entrance to some piano music beautifully performed by Roger Davis.

Post-ceremony the sun stayed out long enough to head outside into the courtyard for some confetti throwing and group shots. During the reception there was some time for me to photograph Luke & Jill as we explored the many floors of the West Mill.

Jill had put considerable effort into creating a stunning multi-tiered cake – a real work of art. Once this had been cut the party started in earnest – with a real 60s vibe and some fab moves from all generations.
