With my last wedding of 2016 edited and delivered  I thought I’d spend a few moments reflecting what has been my busiest and most rewarding year ever. It’s been an incredible 12 months – a wedding season that started in a hot and sunny Mexico, surrounded by mariachi and warm sea breezes, ended with a beautiful two day winter wedding over New Year’s Eve and New Year’s day.

In between I’ve been lucky enough to photograph some wonderful couples and weddings. 2016 was the year I got to shoot my first weddings the West Mill in Derby – six hugely different but equally marvellous occasions. The rest of the year took in Kent Forests steamships across Lake Ullswater, rooftop bars in the City of London and country manors in the Suffolk Countryside, with the odd blast of colour, taste and noise from the Sikh, Hindu and Sri-Lankan Tamil extravaganzas. The one thread linking so many different and unique weddings together was the copious amounts of love.

So what does 2017 in store? Well as I write this I’ve already shot my first few weddings of 2017 including my first wedding around the corner from home in Wimbledon. If these are a marker for whats to come it’s going to be a pretty fantastic 12 months. I’ve got not one but two weddings in Italy in Autumn, as well as trips across the UK. I love what I do and I want to keep it that way so once again I’m operating a strict cap of 30 weddings each in 2017 and 2018. I have four slots remaining for this year and 2018 is shaping up nicely. If you’re looking for a photographer for this year, 2018 or 2019 then do get in touch.

Thanks, as always, to the brides, grooms, families, friends, venues and suppliers that make this crazy world so much fun. Thanks also to Vicki, Steve, Keiran, Martyn & Gareth who assisted on a few of these. And of course to Nikki – my #1 fan, mentor, confidante and wife.

So put the kettle on or pour a glass of your favourite tipple, pull up a chair, and enjoy some of my favourite moments from the weddings of 2016.

If you would like to enjoy these images in video format to a rather natty soundtrack then head over to this post’s sister page here.
