Amy & Dickie are a lovely couple that not too long ago moved their lives and dogs down to Devon. For their pre-wedding shoot the expansive sands at nearby Woolacombe beach in North Devon seemed the perfect spot to get some great images of the couple ahead of their special day.

Planning any shoot in March involves a certain amount of anxiety as to what the British weather has in store. This means I often end up trying to plan for every eventuality from warm, pre-summer sun to snow and wintery gales.

In this case it may have been a grey, flat and bitterly cold day on Woolacombe beach but we just about managed to warm up with a brisk walk on the sand with their three lovely dogs before having a relaxed and fun shoot with the couple alone. The heavy skies at dusk and broad expanses of sand made for some moody and atmospheric images.

In a few weeks time they get married at a local church followed by a reception at the beautiful Westcott Barton. Images and story from their wedding to follow soon.
