Indian Wedding Photography Salomons Estate Kent - Amira & Mark

It was a day to go down in history. Sunday 25th August 2019. At 8am the sun was already high in the sky and the temperature was rising. Crowds began to gather ahead of what was to become an incredible spectacle that people wouldn’t forget in a long time. No I’m not referring to the 2019 World Cup Final between England & New Zealand. Though that was pretty good too.

Salomon’s Estate, just outside Royal Tunbridge Wells, is an intriguing Victorian-era venue with a fascinating past. The day kicked off with one of the most visually spectacular and ear splitting groom procession down to the front of the house complete with smoke grenades and dhol drummers.

The intricate Hindu ceremony itself was held under the Mandap on the stage of the grand theatre followed by an emotional Vidai (farewell) and some very messy traditional Indian games on the terrace!

After some negotiation, Amira & Mark were able to depart and change into their evening attire before returning for some sunset canapés and portraits.

Once the speeches (and the odd song) had concluded the party started in earnest and 18 hours and 17,000 photos later, Matt and I were done… what a day!
