West Mill Darley Abbey Wedding Photographer Derby - Amy & Michael

It’s hard for me to mention the West Mill at Darley Abbey without prefixing it with a heap of superlatives. And so it was, on a bright, sunny summer’s day, that I found myself once more at the peerless photographer’s delight that is the West Mill wedding venue for Amy & Michael’s wedding. Better still I was in the company of a superb set of suppliers (see the foot of this post for a full listing). This included so many of the dream team from that original styled shoot at The West Mill when it was still a building site back in 2015.

I’d last seen Amy & Michael for their winter engagement shoot on the Southbank in London and the weather could not have been more different. Emotion, hugs, amusing incidents (say no more), fab speeches and some big dance floor moves made for an incredible day.

“WOW! It doesn’t happen too often, but I am absolutely speechless; thank you so much for these photos. They evoke so many emotions, it has been so much fun going through them and stories have come out that I didn’t even know happened (like getting lifts from villagers after cigarette runs?!), and even one I hoped would fade away (but it happened and therefore you captured it – that’s documentary style right?!). We’ve gone through them twice together, and I’ve sneaked a few extra viewings into my lunch times, but we need many more viewings to start to take them in. There are so many precious moments captured that it’s really overwhelming. I can’t thank you enough, you are incredible”
